Career history at Hilti
Profile summary
I joined Hilti in 2002 with a backpack full of skills and experiences, including training as a carpenter and a degree in wood technology engineering. It was the perfect match for my role as product manager in Hilti’s power tools business.
These were exciting times and I got to work on some visionary projects, like bringing to market the first battery-driven circular saw with the same power and performance as a corded tool.
Four years later, I was honoured to be offered the role of y-combi hammer product management, which is somehow part of the Hilti DNA. I had a fantastic time working on strategic long-term projects, as well as renewing the entire tool fleet to get y-combis back to growth.
From a family perspective, we always wanted to experience living abroad, and it’s something I would recommend to anyone. So I was thrilled with the opportunity to move to Manchester in 2011, where I was part of the team setting up the marketing hub for northern Europe. As building construction trade manager, this meant working on the sales force competency ramp-up and segmentation. I also got the chance to lead the UK product management team for a year and a half. It was a wonderful time, which my family and I enjoyed in every way.
I’m now based in Schaan, using my expertise in product management to globally manage the gas saw portfolio, which is really quite unique.

In my nine years at Hilti, I’ve worked in several different roles across the organisation. Right now I manage the Steel Construction team in the North of England, leading a team of highly trained, passionate Account Managers to deliver added value solutions for our enthusiastic customers.
I have been lucky to enjoy a diverse career within Hilti working with colleagues from around the world, all with a shared passion to deliver high performance in a caring environment. In the time I have worked at Hilti I’ve seen the organisation grow at a rapid rate and it’s an exciting time to be at Hilti as we develop our digital and service platforms for the evolving market.
Hilti has supported me with my professional development too, helping me to combine my MBA studies with my role within the company. I’m now able to implement the leadership and business skills that I’ve developed in my MBA directly into my role as we aspire to achieve outstanding results.

When I joined Hilti many years ago, I was one of very few women in the business, which meant some interesting situations, like customers expecting me to bring the coffee or banning me from their job sites!
I’m happy to say that this attitude has dramatically changed. Today, I work with a lot of women and everyone accepts us and respects us as peers. There are also many more women among our customers today, so that’s a positive change too.
I started my career as a sales trainee, which quickly led me to marketing, where I’ve worked ever since, albeit in different functions.
My personal growth has been huge along the way, as I’ve learned new things, deepened my expertise and developed my team. Hilti gave me my first leadership position when I was just 28. The trust they showed me meant an even higher engagement and performance from my side.
Over the years, I’ve seen how dynamic Hilti is and how flexible it is in managing change, while all the time having a very clear direction driven by our company strategy.

I joined Hilti as a sales person in the UK. Thirteen years later, I have progressed into a sales leadership role in the UK having spent three years at our global head office looking after our ultimate class drill driver cordless tools.
My first product launch is still one of my proudest moments. The project was for our first lithium ion drill driver. It sticks in my mind because we did what Hilti often does - we came to the market with a superior product that our customers could see the value of straight away.
The training at Hilti is fantastic. My first week at our training center in Manchester felt pretty intense, as we were taught the breadth and depth of our huge product range. But what also struck me was the level of support we were given as new starters.
